Senior Instructor Sensei 5th Degree “Godan” Black Belt

Sensei – Richard Pattison began his martial arts training in 1980 in Charlotte, NC, at Ricky

Moore’s North Carolina Branch American Open Style Karate Association Dojo.

In 1985 he joined the American Free Style Karate Club in Fort Mill and continued his studies of the martial arts under Kyoshi Charles Lingerfelt. At that time the dojo was housed in the Leroy

Springs Recreation Complex, now recognized as the Fort Mill YMCA at the Complex.

Mr. Pattison earned his Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) rank in 1989, testing before Kyoshi Charles Lingerfelt and Hanshi Danny McCall. He currently holds the rank of Godan (5th Degree Black Belt).

Born March 6th, 1953, in Kinston, NC, and currently resides in Charlotte, NC.

Family: Sierra Pattison, daughter, born 1997, now living in Charlotte
